Rev. Dr. Ben Gosden
Senior Pastor at Trinity Church
Reverend Ben Gosden was appointed to Trinity Church in June 2016. Ben is the proud husband of Katie and father of Olivia and Sam. He is originally from Columbus, GA. Ben graduated from Columbus State University in 2008 with a degree in Political Science. He then went to Emory University’s Candler School of Theology to earn his M.Div degree. In 2022, he graduated from Candler School of Theology, this time with a Doctor of Ministry. His doctoral focus was on leadership and his project was specifically about leading church both online and in-person – inspired by the need Trinity had to create a robust online ministry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ben’s passions for ministry are preaching, missions and justice ministry, and community organizing. He works for and dreams of a church where all are welcomed and where all reach out in concern to the world around us to share love, grace, and mercy.
Molly Carlson
Molly Carlson was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Savannah, GA with her husband in 2015. She owns a marketing agency and is always adding more side hustles and projects on her plate. Molly’s son was born in early 2022 and she keeps plenty busy now that she has added “Mom” to her resume. She has been attending Trinity UMC since Easter Sunday in 2017 and her membership was transferred soon after. Molly is passionate about hospitality at Trinity. She loves the idea of putting the welcome mat outside the door, making sure everyone feels welcomed even before they come to visit. She was part of a small team who spearheaded the online and hybrid worship structure that was vital during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, launching Trinity into a new era of hybrid worship.
Molly came to Ben with the idea of starting a podcast to talk through the changes not just in the United Methodist Church but an overall look at faith and the shifts that are happening as we are a busier and more divided culture than ever before.
